ROYAL COLLEGE OF ANAESTHETISTSVIRTUAL CONFERENCE Tackling global emergencies through collaboration and knowledge sharing We worked with the Royal College of Anaesthetists to deliver their “COVID-19: Lessons for the future of Anaesthesia and Critical Care Virtual Conference” – a global, three-day, round-the-clock event tackling pandemic management and policy development. The meeting’s urgency, its diverse input of voices, and the relatively untested nature of virtual live event channels at the time, all combined to make this a complex and high-stakes project. We handled it all from a secure, purpose-built production studio and broadcast hub in Liverpool. Featuring live and on-demand content, lectures, presentations, panel discussions, interviews and collaborative working groups, the event included an impressive roster of keynote speakers that included the UK’s Chief Medical Officer Professor Chris Whitty. This prestigious meeting was opened by RCoA patron HRH The Princess Anne, reached a global live audience of 2000 health workers, academics, and community leaders, and culminated in the publication of a white paper on the handling of current and future pandemics. The conference’s success was borne out by the sharing of invaluable new knowledge and by the fostering of completely new collaborative relationships between some of the world’s leading colleges. Such information and relationships will make the international community better prepared to respond to future healthcare emergencies. Our Work Next Case Study
