Out with the old, in with the new

Like everyone we know – especially everyone we know in our industry – we approached 2021 with a mixture of cautious optimism and grim determination. This was going to be a year to meet head-on: we decided that we weren’t just going to survive; we were going to reposition and repurpose our agency for success. When life gives you lemons, plant the pips and grow an orchard.

It’s been a long, busy year. We learned a lot. We adapted and grew. We made a few key hires. We changed the way we think about ourselves, and the stories we tell about who we are and what we do. We merged our business groups and relaunched our agency with a single, simple proposition – engaging and effective live events and experiences, physical and virtual – “All signal. No noise.”

We focused a lot more on engagement through conversations, took a more targeted approach to business development, and found ourselves meeting all kinds of new and interesting people. Many of those conversations turned into pitches; a few led us directly to new projects. We pitched – a lot – and enjoyed some significant successes. The final quarter was especially busy, just like it used to be, and we go into the holiday season grateful for our wins and looking forward to a rest.

We even picked up a few awards – including in disciplines that weren’t even part of our skill set a year or two ago – and for that we thank our incredible team and their seemingly endless capacity for adaptation and positivity.

In 2022 we’ll be relocating to a completely new-build office location – one that we are tailoring for sustainability in line with our ambition to reach Net Zero within the next few years. We’re partnering with organisations who can help us strengthen our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. And we’re looking forward to some incredibly exciting projects.

So, it’s out with the old and in with the new. We’ll keep changing, adapting, and keeping our spirits up. We hope that you do too. And to extend our opening analogy – the orchard has done OK – it weathered the first frost, resisted some pretty stiff winds, and has started to bear fruit. We’re on the martinis. If you prefer something softer, the lemonade’s a zinger. Join us!
