Taking Pride In Our Shared Future As we approach the end of Pride month, and despite another year of relatively subdued celebrations, many of us have been reflecting on how far we’ve come in the struggle for equality – and how far we still have to go in order to secure a safer, fairer, and more evenly prosperous world. It’s been a generations-long struggle to get to where we are today, where larger numbers than ever before are committed to moving forward in a spirit of equality, tolerance, love and friendship, and in the belief that all experiences are valid and only serve to enrich us as a society. Such viewpoints seem obvious to so many now – it’s simply an everyday matter of being kind and respectful towards each other – that we sometimes forget the long and rocky path that a few brave people trod in order to get us here. Rights are never won easily, and they require constant defending. The people who won them were true pioneers, navigating us all towards a better society. We all feel the value, and share the responsibility, in defending those rights.

We’ve been updating our Sustainability & Responsibility Policy recently, and we can’t help feeling that matters of equality, diversity, and inclusion are all inextricably linked to the commitments we need to make towards our planet. Any efforts to achieve greener working practices, energy efficiency, and carbon neutrality seem incomplete if they are not matched by a heartfelt desire to look after each other, regardless of the differences that separate us. Whatever those differences are, they are small compared to the things we have in common. We support our colleagues, clients, partners, friends and family in the LGBTQ+ community. We value them. We need them. We all breathe the same air. We’ve always believed this; now we are making it central to our agency and the policies that we live and work by. 28.6.21 < Back to news
